Epoxy clay application can be used for a lot of pipe materials but its best applied for pipes made of cast iron.
- Pipe Clamps
Clamps are very useful for sealing large cracks on pipes. On the plus side, it’s sturdy and very dependable. You’ll be assured that water won’t be bursting out of the broken pipe. Even though it’s a reliable fix, do remember that this is a temporary solution. You should not leave your pipes with the clamps thinking it’s already repaired. - Repair Sleeves
Just think of repair sleeves as another sort of pipe clamp. The only key difference between the two is that repair sleeves are for smaller for pinhole cracks. Repair sleeves are good temporary repair for your pipes. Don’t depend on it for too long since the sleeves’ strength is very limited.
- Rubber pipe connectors
Applicable for pipe cracks that is located in the middle portion or at the joint. The rubber contractors are applied by wrapping around the broken pipe. This material does require a bit of cutting which can be a bit time-consuming. Pre-cutting the rubber might seem like a good idea but keep in mind that you won’t know the size of the pipe crack until it happens.

Pipe bursts happen due to the pipe’s structure being too weak from being frozen or aging. Insulating the pipes with insulation blankets, heating cable, or any other effective insulation material to avoid freezing.
